Description
The larynx has been opened from behind to show a fungating tumour on the mucosal surface of the
epiglottis extending from the level of the left vocal chord to within 1 cm of the tip of the epiglottis.
Viewed from the left side, tumour can be seen extending into the adjacent tissues. The histology
of the lesion is that of a moderately well differentiated squamous cell carcinoma and involved
lymph nodes were found in the bilateral block dissection of the neck carried out.
